In the beginning of my career I was learning how to do sign painting. It began with a store window in a small town and began to grow into painting on walls that were interior and exterior on glass, metal, and wood. This was the times when it was all hand painted and computerized lettering was not a competition or a threat. While doing this I learned another interest was people who wanted to do murals in businesses and homes which became a secondary in this work. But under all of this was the desire to use my talent in art with pencil and brush. It was my choice to not be narrow and just use paint or pencil illustrations, and not just one topic, but instead to offer any kind of tools and designs to broaden the abilities I had to offer for people. In all of the lettering and art I have done, detail and realism is what I work hard at.
Wall ArtWithin the last thirty years I have worked with acrylic, pencil, ink pen, colored pencil, and oil paint. Along with the various styles, the airbrush is an instrument I use when I want to add a smooth and soft look on faces or backgrounds. My interest has always been detail and realism in the work I have done to capture the same effect that a photograph can, and as many artist focus on a certain topic, I have always worked with all kinds of interest in people.

CommissionsI have had the opportunity to do illustrations and designs for independent individuals and different companies. Doing work for the Pentagon, Texas Instruments, McDonalds and the Air National Guard are a few companies that you will see under Commissions. Every painting or drawing was designed according to the idea and description the company or individual would explain. As an independent artist the most important thing is to have a good relationship with the customer and put onto canvas what they themselves want to see.

The Unpredictable Illustrations
|
The book "The Unpredictable" was written to educate people about a disability and disease that is not talked about and from which people shy away. The common cancer disabilities and most injuries are visual and can be recognized. But epilepsy is internal in the brain and cannot be recognized until a seizure occurs, and then it is quickly avoided. Some have loved ones who have experienced seizures that have lost lives due to seizures and epilepsy. This book is also to share just a few famous people who have lived with epilepsy, including some that lost their lives early because of seizures. This will show you my work in illustrations as well as share with you what has been a part of my own life.

Western and Civil War Art
The varieties of the young America, western days, and Civil War era is a topic that I am working on in both color and pencil art. This was the time when America was young and the forming and shaping of America was spreading from the east shore to the west. It was a time that families were close and people worked together to build a nation they dreamed to be 'Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.' The life and styles were new and dreams of a growing nation were young with people seeking for a nation of peace and prosperity. This is the time I enjoy to express my feelings and thoughts.
