These are a series of paintings done throughout the years of my career. As a teenager much of my work was first done in pencil deciding if I wanted to pursue this for life. I began doing color with water color paint and colored pencil and now am doing many varieties with airbrush and hand brush.

When I did research on the history of known artists, I came upon Edward Lear, Vincent Van Gogh, and Charles Dickens. What caught my attention was that each one had something in common, they all had epilepsy. The stories of Van Gogh and Edward Lear had sad endings of their lives, but as we know Charles Dickens wrote “A Christmas Carol”. I was so interested in this and did more research about how many other well know individuals lived with this disease know as epilepsy. I came upon actors, athletes, President Roosevelt, Prince Erik, and Prince John. I went to do research on these individuals and created portraits in graphic pencils and Prisma colored pencils of each one. I learned about their lives as individuals who lived with this. These can be found under “Pencil Illustrations” on my webpage. Why this interested me so much was that I too have had to live with this since childhood. It is not easy to share and most of my life I never let it be known that I had this. But when I met people who have lost loved ones due to seizures or have suffered with epilepsy since childhood, it opened a new door in my life to educate the public about this. I then sat down and wrote short stories about thirteen individuals that lived with epilepsy and designed eleven paintings with short stories that may help the average person understand what a seizure is like in visual art. Paintings that you will see under Health Illustrations was painted and sold to raise money for the research of epilepsy. It is called “Hidden Truths, the Mind Unraveled” connected with the Epilepsy Foundation and has artist from around the world who live with epilepsy sell their work there once a year in California.

Art has been the one thing that I have enjoyed either for businesses, individuals, or just for the joy of expressing my heart and talent on canvas. One of my greatest opportunities has been working with children both in schools and individually. It is sharing a part of myself that every artist expresses into his art itself.
